Stick together! is a simple physics-based video game. As pink and blue chewing gums, two players cooperate climbing up a public trash bin. Each player can stick little pieces of gum to the pole that the other – but only the other – player can attach to in order to get up. This aspect of having to help each other up enforces the so-called meta-game, the interaction between the players discussing strategies, giving advice or simply laughing together.
The game’s aim is to evoke fun in the players: Not only through their engagement with the physical difficulties of the game, but also through the opportunity to improve their skills as a team. The implemented sounds and visuals (typical Viennese environment and trash bin) and light-hearted topic contribute to the entertainment as well as the players cooperating as friends, not competing as opponents. The game’s environment as well as its coding were realised in Unreal Engine and Blender, its UI design was created with Adobe Illustrator.
