Search for the yellow flowers in April. Where do they live and how do they thrive? Dandelions grow in impossible places and blossom in imbalance. With their long root systems, they are made to stay, returning year after year to conquer the ground.
In Austria, land rezoning increases property value by 26 times. Each day, 15 hectares are converted to building land, significantly transforming habitats and sealing the ground. Dandelions offer an alternative story about land value, highlighting a more-than-human perspective in urban areas. Their strong roots reclaim spaces, reminding us of lost shared histories, now seen more as weeds than pioneers. This project began with harvesting dandelion stems in Vienna. Weaving these stems builds structures for storytelling. With the help of passersby, woven dandelion fragments cover Vienna’s ground, creating spaces for exchanging stories and ideas. This collaborative effort fosters new approaches to valuing and understanding our environment.
