“Reclaiming the art of handwriting” is a project that explores writing as a creative and self-fulfilling practice in the increasingly digital world we find ourselves in today.
Non-analogue methods of writing are progressively replacing pen and paper as the strive for efficiency is growis. So many things once solid are vanishing whilst the longing for tangible things and actual human connectedness is gradually growing.
With the aim to discover what it means to be quintessentially human through writing, a tool used for thousands of years, many people were invited to participate in this work. For this a number of writing exercises were created, designed to engage the mind and body in various ways. The result exposes the diverse personalities, ways of thinking, emotions and hand writing styles of the many individuals and leaves us with the question: is this really a skill to abandon?
