Gatsch and Tratsch

“Gatsch and Tratsch” is a communal experience that transports sediment from the Danube River into the center of the city of Vienna. This project invites urban residents to engage with the natural elements of the river, fostering a deeper connection to the environment and raising awareness of the river’s ecological and cultural significance. Additionally, the sediment serves as a conversation starter, encouraging dialogue about nature and our relationship with natural resources. This project creates a tangible link between city dwellers and the river, offering an opportunity to experience the texture, colour, and composition of a vital part of the river’s ecosystem.
