Exploring E-Waste

“Exploring E-Waste” Is a project focused on salvaging and working with obsolete consumer and household electronics, aimed at gaining an understanding of their characteristics and impact on our surroundings.

“Exploring E-Waste” is a set in a fictional world where a breakdown of supply chains has resulted in a severe shortage of electronics on the market, consumers have found a solution by hiding their leisure in essential appliances. The outcome is a set of fully functioning “devices” that play music by stealth, whilst remaining disguised as useful kitchen appliances. A salvaged cooker was repaired, fixed and rewired to double as a record player, a salvaged toaster as a cassette player and a salvaged oven as a speaker!
